Associate Advocate

Full-Time Nairobi, Kenya 3–5 Years PQE

We are seeking an Associate Advocate with 3–5 years of post-admission experience in corporate and commercial or dispute resolution practice. The successful candidate will work directly with partners on client matters, taking responsibility for research, drafting, client communication and transaction management.

You will be expected to develop deep expertise in at least one core practice area while maintaining broad commercial competence across the firm's work.


  • Admitted to the Roll of Advocates in Kenya
  • 3–5 years post-admission experience in a commercial law firm
  • Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Commitment to professional development and continuing legal education

Pupillage

Structured Programme Nairobi, Kenya Recent Graduates

OLM offers a structured pupillage programme for recent law graduates completing their transition to the Bar. Pupils rotate across practice areas under the direct supervision of a pupil supervisor, gaining practical experience in transactional, advisory and contentious work.

Our pupillage is designed to provide genuine exposure to client work — not administrative tasks — and to prepare pupils for a successful career at the Bar or in commercial practice.


  • LL.B degree (2nd Class Honours or above) or equivalent
  • Enrolled or eligible for enrolment at the Kenya School of Law
  • Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in commercial law
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to professional rigour
  • Genuine interest in building a career in commercial legal practice
