Professional Experience
Amina’s experience spans contentious and advisory matters across her practice areas:
- Representing clients in High Court commercial litigation, including contract disputes, injunctive proceedings, and debt recovery actions.
- Assisting with preparation of arbitration pleadings, witness statements, and legal arguments in domestic arbitrations administered under the NCIA and other institutional rules.
- Prosecuting trademark applications before the Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI), responding to examination reports, and managing trademark portfolios for local and international brand owners.
- Advising clients on copyright ownership, licensing, and enforcement, including takedown procedures for online infringement.
- Managing work permit and special pass applications for foreign nationals, including Class G (Business) permits, Class M (Special) permits, and investor residence permits under the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act.
- Advising technology companies on data protection compliance under the Data Protection Act 2019 and the regulations issued by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
